What’s the difference between carbs and sugar? I’ll tell you. Nothing. Carbs and sugar are basically the same thing. Carbs, in the form of starches (complex carbohydrates) are simply a long chain of sugar molecules. They end up being the same thing once they enter the blood stream. When you eat a sandwich using whole wheat bread, it’s very common to believe that this is a healthy choice. Good for weight loss, right? No, it’s not! This “healthy” bread converts into sugar just like a Snickers bar would…. do you ever notice that after you eat a sandwich or a slice of pizza you are starving a few hours later? This is because sugar raises our blood sugar, then comes crashing down. It’s a cycle that you are probably familiar with. I certainly was!
How does your body burn fat? The only way to get your body into a fat burning state is to completely starve it of all sugars. Think about this, it’s pretty simple. Your body typically burns carbs or sugar, turning them into sugar for energy. But if you don’t have any carbs, the body will have to go to the secondary fuel source, fat burning.
Does Keto really work? Keto works for many reasons. I tried it myself and was blown away… once I started following this program, I instantly felt satisfied all of the time. I wasn’t run around by my sugar or excess food cravings. I no longer felt out of control. I started a new love affair with food. Food was again fuel AND pleasure. No more counting, weighing, recording, taking away my most favorite foods, and starving in the process!

My background I’ve been in the health and wellness industry for many decades and have had a successful career as a trainer and personal coach. I know all the diets, fads, and programs out there. But most importantly, I know all the highs and lows of body struggles, because I’ve been there. I have worked with countless women and men who have had the same challenges as I have. Because I lived it, I know how to communicate and guide from experience, knowledge and compassion.
My mission I’ve made it my mission to help people who are stuck in this powerful and insidious web of dieting and body shaming. But anyone can take on a new program and find momentary success… the real challenge arises when the mind comes swooping in and sabotages our efforts. That’s why in addition to being a Ketogenic mentor, I’m also and accountability coach.
